People think running your own business is all freedom and coffee shops. The reality? Hard AF, working all hours, and sometimes pretty lonely. Then there’s this lot. A room full of genuinely good people who celebrate your wins, pick you up when you’ve had a wobble, share advice, recommend each other and somehow always leave you feeling lighter than when you walked in. We’re a proper bunch of misfits, and I wouldn’t change a single one of them. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community. It genuinely feels like home. It’s wild how just turning up to one event can change your life and you make friends who are SO your people. Party time... ...just kidding. It’s a wedding 😜 T Party time... ...just kidding. It’s a wedding 😜 The guests arrived thinking they were celebrating birthday…party mode activated. Meanwhile, Eamon was waiting at the end of the aisle, Jo was with the registrar, and (almost) absolutely nobody had a clue what was about to happen. Even his kids!!! Then came the reveal. The confusion. The double takes. The “WAIT... WHAT?!” moments. And once the shock wore off, the celebrations went up 🫶🤘🏻 Still buzzing from pulling off one of the best surprises I’ve ever seen at a wedding. Twenty two years! That’s how long it’d been since Twenty two years! That’s how long it’d been since I last saw Laura, who I went to school with. And isn’t it funny how sometimes you connect with someone and immediately think, Why didn’t we spend more time together back then? 💛 I had the absolute joy of photographing Laura’s 40th birthday recently, and it was just so lovely!!! The sun was blazing, her family kept checking I had a drink and something to eat, and there was this lovely energy in the room where everyone genuinely wanted to be there. Laura had travelled back to celebrate with the people she loves most, and you could feel just how loved she is. Being a photographer, I think you become quite tuned in to these little moments. The glances, the laughter, the quiet kindness and this was full of them. She told me she’d always wished she’d had photos from her 21st. So here’s hoping these become the memories she looks back on in another twenty years and smiles. ✨ Happy 40th, Laura. Liverpool, you really do know how to make a girl f Liverpool, you really do know how to make a girl feel at home 🖤✨ I was asked to photograph the most gorgeous event at The Islington Bridal Boutique for the fabulous Karen, who also works absolute magic with bridal alterations — and honestly, what a day it was. There were nibbles, there was fizz, there were beautiful dresses everywhere… and my lovely friend Vicky from Glamorama was doing a live bridal makeup demo that looked absolutely stunning in person. But the moment that really got me? A real bride revealing her wedding dress to her family for the first time 🥹 There were tears, hugs, and so much love in the room. It was genuinely adorable to witness. I’ve spent so much time in the past looking at communities like this and thinking, “I wish I had that.” And now, I truly feel like I do. Liverpool, thank you for welcoming me into your world and making me feel so loved. Sunday looked a lot like this ☀️🥂 Surrounded by lo Sunday looked a lot like this ☀️🥂 Surrounded by lovely people who bring all the love 🫶 Walking through Liverpool in this gorgeous weather, heading into Islington Bridal with the lovely Vicky creating the most timeless bridal looks. The dresses are just insane, the people are amazing, and the whole day felt so full of happiness. Then rooftop drinks at sunset with friends, music playing, loads of chats, so many giggles, and one of those evenings you never really want to end.
