Date: 01/07/2018 - Lauren + Nick at Holmes Mill

Bride and Groom Goals. Lauren and Nick got married at the ultra cool wedding venue Holmes Mill. This quirky wedding was so emotional and full of fantastic wedding ideas. The Bride wore a pink vintage wedding dress chosen by Nick and the groom and Best Men wore some seriously stylish tweed suits. Holmes Mill is so fascinating and there are endless ideas for wedding photography.

Lauren and Nick are just a dream and so much thought and effort went into all their wedding details. But lets start at the beginning… Lauren and Nick got engaged on Christmas morning in 2015. They grow a lot of their own food in their garden and they went out to choose some carrots. One of these carrots was very special indeed and had a piece of string attached and at the end was a big with an engagement ring (which was actually Nick’s grandmothers from 1910)

Lauren and Nick had heard about Holmes Mill and decided to take a look and fell in love straight away. This super cool wedding family has the most amazing wedding team who are super friendly and will just go out of their way to make sure your wedding day is amazing. The styling is incredible it’s just absolutely beautiful and totally takes your breath away. The ceremony/reception room has this awesome industrial feel which means you can keep things low key or absolutely go to town.

It was such an emotional morning there was so much laughter and definitely tears too. The bride and groom’s little girl Polly was there to keep her mummy entertained all morning.

Nick looked amazing in his beautiful tweed two piece and wait till you see his shoes.

Laurens wedding shoes though…. Her style is just totally out of this world and I loved that she chose an alternative wedding dress (also pink is my favourite colour). The soft blush vintage dress looked so gentle and romantic and was actually a gift from her husband Nick.

Laurens sister did her wedding make up and she used her personal hairdresser for her gorgeous wedding hair. They all got ready at The Spinning Block which is the most gorgeous hotel situated right next door to where they were getting married. Perfection!

Ok back to the wedding ceremony…

Reception drinks were served in the super cool engine room and guests could help themselves to different gin’s, beers or soft drinks. The Bride and Groom also had a violinist playing for their guests.

The awesome moment I asked Lauren and Nick to show me their ring fingers and Lauren misheard and just gave me the finger.

We kept things super chilled and fun for the couples ‘portraits’ and maybe the wedding photos took 5 minutes?… We went in that big container and there is an awesome food hall which we had a little play in then I kind of left the Bride and Groom to enjoy themselves.

Another amazing part of the day was when 8 of the bride and groom’s guests were taken by surprise as they were asked to go into the kitchen and bring out the beef and slice it for each table. This was so much fun and really got all the guests laughing and chatting.

Each guest was given a pot of honey and a pot of jam. The jam was made with strawberries from Lauren and nick’s garden and the honey from bees which the brides mum keeps.

Lauren and Nick really wanted to take a little stroll to the castle for some fun wedding photography and I was totally loving this!

This beautiful cheese cake!

An absolutely amazing wedding from start to finish with the loveliest couple.
