Some Sundays just keep on giving... ⚽📸 I’d alread Some Sundays just keep on giving... ⚽📸 I’d already had one of those days that reminds me why I love photography. I’d spent the day photographing a brilliant wedding, camera full of memories, feet absolutely knackered... and I thought that was me done. Then I got a message from some people in my building. “Come down to the Bus Yard...” So I did. One minute I was editing wedding photos. The next I was sat outside with brilliant people, watching the football, laughing, taking photos and somehow still awake at 1am. 😂 and 5am 😁 And what a game! Usually it’s “Come on England...” followed by a bit of heartbreak... Not this time. The place erupted. Strangers were cheering together, people were hugging, everyone was completely caught up in the moment. It wasn’t really about football. It was about people. I’ve realised something since moving to Liverpool. Home isn’t always a place you’ve lived the longest. Sometimes it’s the place where people pull up another chair and say, “Come and join us.” That’s what this city keeps giving me. Little moments I never planned. Conversations I never expected. People who make an ordinary evening feel like a memory worth keeping. I’m taking more photos than ever lately, and I think it’s because I’m noticing more than ever. The best photos happen after people stop trying to The best photos happen after people stop trying to pose. 🤍 When couples tell me they’re awkward in front of the camera, I always smile... because that’s usually when the magic happens. It’s never about standing in exactly the right place or copying someone else’s Pinterest board…….. It’s about the little moments in between. The laugh that sneaks out.
The forehead kiss they didn’t even realise happened.
The way they look at each other when they forget the camera is there. These two absolutely nailed that. We wandered around Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, making the most of every backdrop we could find. Beautiful old stone walls, gorgeous modern spaces, cosy corners... it all became part of their story. None of it mattered as much as them. They arrived saying they felt a little nervous. later... they were laughing like this… 💕 That’s my favourite part of the day. Because the best wedding photos come from creating a space where people feel comfortable enough to just be themselves. I think that’s what I’m really trying to capture these days. Not perfection. Not perfectly posed. Just people, exactly as they are. Because years from now, I don’t think you’ll remember where your hand was meant to go or whether your dress sat perfectly. You’ll remember how it felt. And on Saturdays, Liverpool comes alive. ❤️📸 Toda And on Saturdays, Liverpool comes alive. ❤️📸 Today I headed out with my camera to photograph my friend Paul, who was playing at Heebie Jeebies. As always... Liverpool had other plans… Before I’d even reached Seal Street, I’d already found live music, old buildings full of stories, record shops, people spilling out onto the pavements, friends catching up on pub steps, and strangers laughing together like they’d known each other forever. That’s what I love about street photography. I’m not really chasing landmarks. I’m chasing atmosphere. The feeling of a city that’s constantly moving, but somehow never feels rushed. A place where history sits beside something brand new, where every corner has its own personality, and where a simple walk can turn into an adventure. These aren’t just photos to me… They’re little reminders to look up, slow down, and notice what’s already there. Because there is so much life happening around us every single day, and it’s so easy to miss when we’re busy thinking about what’s next. I’m literally falling in love with Liverpool a little more every time I head out with my camera. And I genuinely think this is only the beginning. The more I photograph this city, the more I feel like I’m creating something bigger than individual images. I’m collecting moments. Little pieces of everyday life that deserve to be remembered. I nearly didn’t go. I heard music from my apartme I nearly didn’t go. I heard music from my apartment and thought, “I wish I was there.” Then came the second thought... “Nah... I’m tired.” 😂 Thirty seconds later I grabbed my camera and ran downstairs. Best decision. I only caught a couple of songs, but they were enough. The band were incredible. People were smiling, dancing, waving... and because I was standing there with the biggest grin on my face, camera in hand, some of the band even blew kisses at me. 🥹 It made me think how many beautiful moments we’d all miss if we always listened to the voice telling us to stay home. The older I get, the more I realise that joy doesn’t usually come knocking on your door. Sometimes you’ve got to put your shoes on and go and meet it. That’s what photography has given me. Not just photographs... but a reason to say yes. To walk a different street. To follow the music. To be curious. To notice. I genuinely feel so lucky to live in Liverpool. One minute I’m eating toast 😂 the next I’m standing in the street photographing a marching band from the other side of the world, with people waving, laughing and bringing complete strangers together through music. Some venues never lose their magic. 🤍 I’ve been s Some venues never lose their magic. 🤍 I’ve been shooting for over ten years now, and this Sunday I’m heading back to Holmes Mill for another beautiful celebration. I’ve photographed big weddings there, intimate weddings, emotional weddings, and everything in between. Every couple has brought something completely different, and that’s what I love most. No two weddings are ever the same. Some are full of happy tears. Some are full of laughter from beginning to end. Some become even more special years later, when I get to photograph the same people again as a family. This lovely couple are one of those stories. Since their wedding, I’ve photographed their family, and I’ve also had the privilege of photographing a friend’s wedding too. There’s no bigger compliment than someone trusting you with more of their life’s milestones. I still remember taking this photograph. Yes, it’s gently guided, but the smiles, the way they’re looking at each other... that’s all them. Those are the moments I’ll always be drawn to. I honestly can’t wait to be back at Holmes Mill this weekend, camera in hand, ready to tell another story.
